What notarial services are provided?
Notarial services include:
- Apostilles (and the binding of documents presented)
- Certifying copies of original documents
- Witnessing of signatures on certain documents
- Verifying identity
- Issuing Certificates of No Impediment to marriage
- Witnessing statutory declarations
- Administering affidavits, oaths and affirmations
We can assist you with notarial services when the documents are
- Australian in origin; or
- for use in Australia.
Which notarial service do I need?
We are not able to provide advice on which Notarial service you may need.
Please ensure that you know what Notarial service(s) you wish us to perform and, if necessary, you should confirm this with the organisation or agency that requires your documents to be notarised.

We will make copies of all the original documents presented by you. We cannot accept photocopies provided by you.
Letters of No Objection
The Australian Consulate-General, Bengaluru does not issue personalised letters of no objection for individual Australian citizens. Instead, Australian citizens in need of a letter of no objection can download our universal letter of no objection, free of charge.

Your personal information (including your name and contact details) will be collected by DFAT via Setmore to book your appointment and for related purposes. By proceeding with this booking, you are consenting to the collection of this information by Setmore on DFAT's behalf for these purposes. If this information is not collected, DFAT's ability to arrange your appointment will be limited. Your personal information will be handled by Setmore in accordance with Setmore's Privacy Policy, and by DFAT in accordance with DFAT's Privacy Policy.
